Responsible Care® is the global chemical industry’s unique initiative to improve health, environmental performance, enhance security, and to communicate with stakeholders about products and processes.

‘Lanka Responsible care Council (LRCC)’ was initiated as a voluntary Association with the blessings of National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) and New Zealand Responsible Care Council in 2012. LRCC is the sole national trade association representing the common interests of the Chemical suppliers and major users in Sri Lanka.

ROLE OF LRCC

The LRCC is an association of companies/ stakeholders that have made a commitment to implement Responsible Care. The LRCC provides support to member companies to improve their Responsible Care activities through such measures as meetings where members can exchange information and experiences related to Responsible Care. Also the council promotes effective communications and knowledge sharing with the public and local communities and strives to strengthen its bonds of trust with society.

Lanka Responsible Care Council is committed to organize a National Conference on Environment, Health & Safety and the RC Awards Ceremony annually with the aim of educating and showcasing RC practices to  local industries and rewarding our good standing members.

Four quarterly training programs will be organized as well for members and non members as well which will help to guide and disseminate RC practices among local industries, universities and authorities.
